Emerose Fruit

So this is a little different than the other artwork I've uploaded. This is a unique fruit I created for the world of the Forest, and it just dawned on me that I drew this several years ago but never uploaded it! Whoops!

This purplish fruit is known as emerose due to the green rose-like blossoms that bloom on the trees in spring and produce fruit from summer to fall. Emerose are pretty popular in the eastern Forest, except with the Elves who prefer apples, and are versatile: They can be eaten raw or cooked, but are also used to produce juice, jam, desserts, and alcohol (particularly a popular brandy called 'Emerosian'). My favorite thing about emerose, though, is that the trees change color in autumn from green to a deep purple-red color.

Emerose is also Garizole's favorite food. If anyone remembers the Gary Stained Glass drawing, I incorporated emerose trees into the border of it

Basic Process: Pencil sketch, then Prismacolor markers and a heavy layer of colored pencil.
